Catholic Youth of St. Alphonsa Church, popularly known as CYSAC, is a youth group that has come together and is ardently working for the betterment of the community. We are approximately 40 members of St. Alphonsa Church. All those who have completed 10th are welcomed to be a part of CYSAC until they are married.
Every year, CYSAC actively participates and conducts various activities in the church. Organizing feasts, annual competitions for catechism students, raising funds by setting up stalls and organizing cultural programs are few of the many activities that CYSAC does. We also take keen interset in being a part of events, competitions and meetings organized by other churches and Christian Youth Associations across Bangalore.
Being Malayalees, every year we celebrate Onam, the grand festival of Kerala in our church. This is the time when the youth of our church come together to blend tradition and culture in their own fashion. We arrange beautiful pookkalam and perform Thiruvathira Kali on the occasion of Onam celebrations.
CYSAC not only participated, but also won many awards in various Inter-Youth competitions organized by other parishes, namely St. Josephs and Clarets, St. John the Evengelist, St. Thomas and ICYM.
Every year, Christmas is celebrated in the true CYSAC spirit and style. We decorate the christmas tree and crib beautifully and distribute small gifts among the parishioners. "Lucky Person of the Year" will be selected after the New Year's mass every year.
Every year CYSAC organizes our own Inter-Parish Youth Fest "Les Fabuleux Asiah" (The World of the Living Youth). Youth from parishes around Bangalore attends this fest. This event help us build camaraderie with different Syro Malabar churches in Bangalore, and take CYSAC to greater heights.
We also organize trips for our members every year, which help us build stronger bonds with each other and with our new members.
With God's grace and the blessings of our elders, CYSAC hopes to continue working for the betterment of our parish and to always upheld it's motto - "ONE IN CHRIST!".
